During the 14 or so years I have been in ministry, I've seen a real shift in how important computers and the internet have become to most pastors. Some pastors might still be behind the times, but increasingly those in ministry are becoming more and more computer savvy.
With that thought in mind, let's look at the February 2003 Edition of the Heavenly Top Ten, which is:
Top Ten Indicators That Your
Pastor Might Be A Hacker
- Instead of phone numbers, his Palm Pilot had IP numbers!
- All your online passwords keep getting reset to "tithe 2003"!
- His last sermon was titled, "AOL: the Initials of the Beast!"
- That none of the parents can pick up their kids from your son's interrupted birthday party!
- All his "End Times" charts are in binary!
- The RCMP/FBI seized the church office computer!
- Apparently Bill Gates just donated half of all his assets to the building fund!
- Each Monday your screensaver mysteriously changes to the outline from his last sermon!
- Whenever you accidentally find yourself surfing somewhere questionable, a popup window with "Set your minds on things above...appears!
- And the number one indication that
your pastor might be a hacker is: - His name is Neo!1
1Neo is the main character in the movie "The Matrix" TM.
The Heavenly Top Ten is intended to be a fun look at
issues of faith and fellowship. It should not be considered a serious treatment
of
any of the topics presented.
